An independently owned, full-service bead store located in the heart of Coolidge Corner in Brookline, Massachusetts.
For more than twenty years the original Pear Tree was a Coolidge Corner landmark, selling international arts and crafts, fine art, furniture, clothing, and jewelry personally picked by the owners during their extensive world travels. Within The Pear Tree was a full service bead counter which carried tools, supplies and an eclectic mixture of contemporary beads, along with rare, vintage, and ethnic beads procured directly from traders across the globe.
Fortunately, when the original Pear Tree closed its doors, the bead shop was saved. It has moved down the street and was taken over by Tania, a long time employee, who greatly expanded the selection while maintaining the original commitment to quality. The new Pear Tree still has an amazing selection of contemporary, vintage, and ethnic beads, ethnic jewelry, custom-made jewelry, tools, supplies, a helpful and knowledgable staff, jewelry repair services, and a full range of classes which take place every week. The store has also retained the same foreign and local traders and has acquired new contacts to bring you the best quality items while still keeping the prices low.
